Learn what makes a great picture POP! In Digital Photography I, we will start from ground zero and cover basic camera functions, composition, the principles of light, and archiving. Refining your skills as a photographer takes practice. This hands-on course will take what you’ve learned in the first four 100 level Bedford School of Imaging classes and put it to use! We will tackle everyday obstacles for the photographer in relation to different types of subject matter and shooting situations. You will have the opportunity to go into the field with professional guidance to take photographs, watch demonstrations, and followed up by a portfolio review. A strong knowledge of the fundamentals of photography is a prerequisite.

200 Level Courses
200 Level Courses are subject specific or skill development workshops. These courses are for students who already have a base knowledge of photography, so it is strongly encouraged to have already taken the 100 level courses or have a solid understanding of exposure and manual settings of the camera.
Prerequisites for 200 level coursers are 102. Digital Photo II or a basic understanding of the elements of exposure. Being comfortable with changing ISO, Aperture, and Shutter speed on your camera will allow to follow along more easily in these workshops.
Beautiful light is a key ingredient to great portraits. First, you’ll Learn how to see and understand the characteristics of light. Bedford Camera offers annual photo extravaganza events! We gather local and nationally known speakers from across the country to bring you a diverse range of topics. Additionally, there is a trade show with manufacturer reps, camera clubs, live-model shoots, contests and more!
Take a walk with pro-photographers and tech reps to learn your camera and take some great photos. We’ll go to fun places like the parks, zoos, historical sites and more. Plus we’ll provide different types of photo gear for you to try!

CLASS CANCELLATIONS: Even though it is rare, occasionally a class may be canceled due to unforeseen causes by either Bedford Camera and Video (BCV) or its instructors. In event of a class cancellation, the participants can choose to receive a full refund or transferring to another scheduled class.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: In times of inclement weather, the instructor & manager of each store are responsible for either rescheduling or canceling the class, as well as informing their students via phone and/or email.
CLASS ENROLLMENT: Bedford Camera & Video and the instructor reserve the right to cancel class 24 hours before the first class session when the enrollment is less than 50% of the maximum number of students. Full store credit to BCV will be issued toward each student in that type of situation.
